Action contre la Faim launches its first conference “Research for Nutrition: operational challenges and uptake in prevention and treatment of undernutrition” that will take place annually.
The conference will gather researchers and humanitarian actors to address the overarching issue of nutrition security and the fight against hunger worldwide. Each year, two topics will be discussed: operational challenges and research uptake. Recent results or advancements in studies that have the potential to improve operations will be presented and discussed. These will encompass prevention, treatment, measurement of undernutrition, including nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions. Furthermore, the conference will allow room for debate on the role of field agencies as research actors, the challenges they face in implementing and operationalising research, as well as the added value they have.
